Our extensive experience as a developer of sophisticated Web-based
applications has enabled us to create a unique methodology for the
development of complex Internet-based business applications.
The Hostit.net Internet Development Methodology (IDM) has
evolved as a result of experience aggregated in the course of working on
other projects across a wide variety of clients.
Hostit.net has seen that the requirements of both information and technical
applications are rarely fully known at the outset of the project. Knowledge
of the application grows as the work progresses. When an initial version of
the application arrives on paper or goes live, new requirements appear and
existing ones change. Thus, the application as a whole cannot be developed
with the belief that the requirements remain constant during the development
period. We rather believe that it is better to develop an application
step by step, beginning with a few of its core functions. As a preferred path
becomes clear and a better understanding of the system functionality evolves,
new functions can be added. In this way, the application is incrementally
enlarged until the desired level is reached. Such an incremental or phased
strategy also provides for faster feedback during development.
Our IDM provides the structure and process for pursuing application
development as a series of defined stages, where the final application can be
divided into parts that correspond to clients' requirements at the time.
Further, all subsequent releases of the application are developed as a
series of incremental stages.
By using a phased approach, the project's various development-related tasks
are addressed in sequence, so that the work performed by Hostit.net within
each phase is more refined and focused than in the previous phase.
